Kolomyya to Yaremche (2016-04-16)
Iris wanted to see the Carpathian mountains because her maternal grandfather’s family had lived in Kilomyya, a short distance away and had probably visited these mountains. Alex took us to Yaremche, a sort of resort town not too far from Kolomyya.
On the drive there, we stopped for a bathroom and provisions.
This young woman actually used this ancient abacus to verify the results of her electronic calculator.
The landscape began to resemble south-west Virginia up towards the Blue Ridge.
But it turned out that we weren’t in Virginia!
I couldn’t really get a photograph showing just how cute this little truck was with a cow in the back. So it shouldn’t be here, should it?
Why are we attracted to destruction?
